I made it over 50!

Woohoo! So of course, I got busy living life and I made 2 sales in the process taking me over 50! Passed a milestone. Yay! Just had to share since I was whining a little earlier. ;D

The love birds have flown the coop! I also sold some heart beads that I had an excess of.

Yippee! *Does cartwheel*

The Watched Pot...

Caged Bird in brown and green

Mossy Tree

Bursting Blooms in blue

Bursting Blooms in wine

...never boils. So sorry I've gone so long without an update! I hope that I find you all well. In my shop I am one tiny sale away from 50. Woohoo! I was hoping that after being featured twice in a week, that publicity might send me over the edge. No such luck. In fact, this is the longest period of time I've had between sales. I know you're saying, Nina, boo hoo. Get over it. ;P Anyhow so I'm just sitting on 49 twiddling my thumbs. I know the watched pot never boils. So I just have to forget about it and be very busy living life and creating and then it'll happen. So hard to not check every two seconds though. lol.

Above are the newest items in the shop!
What else? I'm working on a few designs in my head hoping to get them in production by February. That is my absolute favorite part of the creative process - the problem solving aspect. How do I translate what is in my head to the materials. It can be fun, exciting, frustrating but pretty much always is oh so rewarding.

Alright good people. Off to be creative!

The newest planet - Galactica

"And we shall call this heavenly body, Galactica."

That's pretty much how the naming of this piece went. ;D I mean really, doesn't it look like a planet? So this is a departure from what you are used to seeing in the shop but a gal has different moods and moments you know? Time to mix it up a bit. I'm definitely not abandoning my other pieces. Just adding on!

New Items in the Shop

Here are the latest items in the shop! First up is the Marshmallow Tree. Don't you just want to eat it? You can probably tell I was hungry when I was deciding what to call that one. ;)

Next we have the Bursting Blooms in lilac! I think these baskets would be really great as bridal jewelry as well as every day cuteness. ;D

Hearts All A Flutter - Love Birds Necklace

Here is my first offering that fits in to the Valentine's Day mold, if you will. I love how this piece turned out. These two birdies are getting set to smooch and are framed in the cutest heart! I'll be putting it up in my Etsy shop tomorrow. I'm too tuckered out to do it now. And really, I'm only posting this tonight because I believe I promised to have it up here today and I want to keep my stalker (Andrea! :D) happy. And seeing as I'm just sneaking up on 12 AM EST, consider my promise kept. G'nite!

Sold!

Valentine's Day pieces

So I've been wracking my brain as to what do for V Day since like, December. I had one idea that didn't pan out. Had another idea that I still may pursue but is a bit different from my "normal" style.

I really want to do a piece that is timeless rather than gimmicky, you know? So I think the answer came to me last night. It fits in with and incorporates my current work, is appropriate for Valentine's Day and yet could be worn at any other time of the year.

I personally don't like jewelry that I have to pull out for special occasions and so I am happy with my conclusion. I've worked on it in practice wire and will do the real deal tomorrow! I would do it tonight but everyone else has gone to bed and won't appreciate my hammering. ;D

ooh idea! I'll do two versions!

Poll Time! Branding

So, I know I need to create a "brand" for myself. Think Nike, Lexus etc.
My banners and avatars and business cards, etc. should match everywhere you can locate me so that I am more memorable. Currently, I'm all over the place and that has to change.

My question is, as a jewelry artisan is it important for me to have a picture of my work in my branding or no?

Original design by Beads In The Belfry! Part of the Still Life series.

A tisket a tasket! Isn’t this the sweetest little basket you’ve ever seen? What is yours carrying?

Sterling silver has been hand woven and wire wrapped to create a basket form. Quartz beads (dyed orange) have been woven into the basket. Once wrapped, the piece is antiqued in order to bring out the best in this linear design.

This particular basket is chock full of oranges! Prefer bright silver? Let me know and I can make one of those for you!

Each basket measures 1.5 in tall x 1 in wide and hangs from a lightweight 18" sterling silver chain. I can adjust the chain length between 14" and 20." Please let me know what length you desire. If no length is given, I will send an 18" chain.

Quick post - Still Life Series Part Deux

So I'm on my way out the door to go buy some jeans (woohoo!) but just wanted to give you all a quick update. I'm at about 90% over this cold and therefore, have worked hard instead of resting-goofy gal that I am.

I've been working on a basket design *full* of flowers rather than one sitting on the outside. At first it was challenging because I could not find small enough semiprecious flower shapes. After I got over that I moved on to really colorful Czech glass flower shaped beads. Well, I hit the jackpot!

I don't have time at the moment to post pics, but I will do so later along with some other variations on a theme for the Still Life Series.

I'm so excited about this flower basket, you don't even know! :)

What should I get?

Happy New Year! I'm feeling about 80% from this cold that has been kicking my butt. I'm so happy about that!

So, I saw the parental units yesterday and they gave me my birthday present. Cold hard dinero. Thanks guys! I was informed that I was NOT to use this on any Beads In The Belfry business purchases. Those sly dogs. They know a gal needs to treat herself sometimes. So, there are many things I'd like to have but I've narrowed it down to two options. Which shall I choose?
