Well, I was inspired not by the park itself but in anticipation of going to the park! I wanted to wear this purple top I have and then I decided I wanted to make some earrings to match. So I used some lovely amethyst beads I had hanging around! Click either picture to be taken to the shop listing. I just now learned how to add a link to a picture. You'd think I was brand new to this thing. Yeesh!

In related news we stayed at the park for 3 hours. It was glorious!!!! This new park is very nice and D was a champ sharing his snacks and everything! I was a proud mama. I took a really cute shot of him on my camera phone. I need to figure out how to get it to my computer. As you may have noticed, I'm not that technologically inclined.
When the little guy wakes up we are definitely going out again. Perhaps for a nature walk this time. It is simply to pretty a day to be inside for longer than you have to be!!!!

Weeee! - Zip Line Sterling Silver Necklace
Hiya! This is dedicated to my son's first encounter with a zip line at a playground last weekend. We are going to another new park this morning. Who knows what I might come up with from that experience!!!
Weeee! - Zip Line Sterling Silver Necklace
In other news I got over my fear and soldered the 14K gold last night and I have to say it was sooooo much easier than soldering sterling silver!!! Woop! I might have to start buying gold more often (in small quantities of course). I will have to take photos and show you later.

Hi peeps!
I'm sorry I've been gone so long. I was working on some personal things like trying to potty train my child for one. I tried that "whole train him in less than a day" bit. I got it done in a week. lol. And guess what? I thought I was the business. You couldn't tell me NOTHING!!!! (For the grammar police I know it should be ANYTHING. Just roll with my enthusiam 'K? thanx)Well I guess my child just wanted to show me that he *could* do it because now he is totally uninterested. I'm OK with that (mostly). Just as long as he gets this ish (literally. heh) done by September for pre-school, we are A-OK.
I trust everyone is doing well and we've all fawned over the Obama's new dog already and cried that Ugly Betty is MIA. ;P
While I was gone I also took a class where I learned how to bezel set stones. Awesomeness!!! Have I done it again since class? No, but I plan to try this weekend! I haven't even taken pics of the item I did in class but here is a shot of one I tried myself before class:
I like it but I'm soooo glad I took the class! In other news I have a private commission to work in gold. I'm a little scared only because I've never soldered gold before and you know that gold is mad expensive!!!! I have the materials and am scared to take them out of the box. hee hee!
So I'm having a little grand re-opening sale through the end of April. If you want in, join my mailing list by emailing beadsinthebelfry [at] gmail.com.
Here are some of the new pieces I've been working on that I added to the shop!

Seriously flattered.
OK. So I had to share this because I am so extremely humbled and flattered. A long time ago I joined a team on Etsy known as EtsyCREST (Capital Region Etsy Street Team). I am a big joiner. I love the idea of working as a group. I am however not so good at keeping up once I've joined things. Terrible I know. I have in the past joined at least four different teams I think. One I'm sure dropped me. I dropped another because my style has been evolving and wasn't sure my work really would keep fitting in and I have two more that I am a member of but am not very active in. I told you I was a joiner! But enough about me (for the moment. You'll understand in a minute).
EtsyCREST is a team based on the area you live in. I have met a couple of sellers so far from the team and that was cool! Check out the awesome talent available by searching for the term "etsycrest" on Etsy. If you live in the DC area take a chance and shop local! It'll be bound to reach you more quickly! ;D
Today I got a lovely message from a fellow CREST member, Babus. She makes the cutest baby items! Well she wanted to let me know that she'd featured me in her treasury. I thought that was so nice and so I clicked on over. I was expecting one spot amongst 12 artisans. Imagine my surprise to find that the WHOLE THING featured my work. 12 pictures of Beads in the Belfry. You could've bowled me over! I am so humbled and flattered and I don't know what, that I had to run and post here. You work and do what you love and then you hope that someone, somewhere might feel the same and for someone to do this...it's such a priceless moment. I may shed a tear or two here. Seriously.
So thanks so much Babus and EtsyCREST for your dual awesomeness!
You can see the treasury here until Monday.

Three Sisters, One Boot
OK. Please forgive me for leaving you so long without a post! I don't even have a good excuse like the dog ate my homework (or in this case my mouse). I just haven't gotten around to posting. But most of my old followers (*waves*) know the deal and thankfully expect little of me. New followers (*waves!*) - welcome to the routine! I go around ignoring my blog for weeks at a time and then apologizing profusely when I do remember to write. And then we start the cycle all over. You get the idea.
So over Christmas my little sister had on these fantastic dark red boots. Fast forward to this weekend. My older sister showed me these same boots but in cognac. She got them on sale. So of course she took me to the website so I could reignite my interest in them. I. mean. They are sooo cute! They are a mid calf length and don't have a hell (oops slip there) heel that would kill me. I don't do stilettos or the like but I am ALL OVER kitten heels. I feel like I should feel bad talking about this what with the state of the U.S. economy but I don't. Fashion uplifts the masses right? That's my story and I'm sticking to it. ;P
Anyway, so I really wanted the red or the cognac but they didn't have my size. I was somehow convinced to get the camel color. And really, they'll go wonderfully with this coat right here so I'm not mad. This shot is from a couple of years ago before I started growing my hair again.
Now I can be a diva. *Note the diva like glasses above* Really. I was starting to develop a complex about not having shoes fierce enough for this coat. At least I think the coat is fierce. This picture doesn't do it justice. So I ordered the boots today. Woot!
So I present to you the MUOI by Aldo.
And right now they have free shipping AND if you go to retailmenot.com you can find a 10% off coupon and there is free shipping on orders over $80 until the end of the month! Score! No need to thank me. Well actually of course you should thank me. I just gave you a cool shoe and valuable information on said shoe! Please note that different colors are different prices. And if the MUOI is not your style, take a look around for other goodies! I'm trying to get you to stimulate the economy here!
Now I feel better about all this. :D
