Mundaness rocks!

I'm really focused on taking it easy right now and enjoying the simple things.
Eating lunch on your patio.
Sipping strawberry milk.
The mundane.
For some reason I think the word mundane has gotten a bad rep.
One definition I looked up described mundane as unimaginative.
I disagree wholeheartedly. The everyday things of life give my work inspiration daily.
The mundane things of life are life. At least here on earth.
What do we remember when loved ones pass on?
Do you remember the "must have" gifts of the season you received from them?
Or do you remember the constancy of their love - by how they tucked you in at night?
Or how they only wore coral lipstick?
Here's to the mundane!

Let the materials talk to you

I forgot to show you guys some of the things I made last week so here they are. I let the materials lead me to the path they wanted to take.

Isn't this bead gorgeous?!?!? I had to have some of them. With a bead this fab all you gotta do is showcase it simply! This one sold but don't worry I have more. :D Will put some more up later this week I think.

I was originally commissioned by a friend to come up with a butterfly necklace to compliment the studs seen here. I was so stuck on what to do. Sometimes I get too cerebral about things.

So I just said forget it and let the metal talk to me as a I worked with it. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. So pleased, that I immediately made another one for myself! lol. And then put it in the shop because I knew someone else would love it too!

In other news I'm knee deep in initial necklaces to create (yay!)

I've been a busy little bee

Mostly filling orders but I snuck in a new two thing or two. :D Sneak Peek!

These will hit the shop early morning tomorrow as I will be gone all the rest of the day hanging out with my sister and my niece and nephew! Yay!

Wish me luck with Young Beads and the potty on this outing. *crosses fingers*

Pins and Needles.

Hi everybody! Hope you are doing well!

My leg muscles are hurting and I couldn't for the life of me figure out why until last night. On Sunday, I walked home from church. I volunteered in children's church after going to my normal service and then decided it was a nice day so I walked home instead of calling Mr. Beads for a ride.

Well it's a nice walk but it's a nice walk...uphill! You don't notice these things when you drive. ;D It's almost 2 miles. And the uphill part makes my front leg muscles hurt. The ones near your shins that I didn't know existed? It's an interesting experience. So my legs feel a little pins and needly.

In other pins news, I made my first one! I am very excited! See it here:

And one more because I love to wear this jacket because the collar goes so far up.

And I forgot to post up my Twilight necklace when I made it. Here it is!

It sold pretty quickly! I will make sure I have enough of this same color and then I'll list it again.

Wish my poor body luck recovering! I neglected to mention earlier that on Friday I stretched and somehow strained a back muscle. I'm falling apart at the tender age of 29!

Sometimes I make things just for me

I actually made this months ago but rediscovered it today. If there had been more of these beautiful flowers at my bead shop I'd have happily made some for you too! But alas, 'twas the only one.

Christmas in July?

Hi peeps! What's new with you? What's new with me you ask?

On the home front, Young Master has been training me as to when to put him on the potty. lol. But in very encouraging news when he goes to children's church on Sunday, we advise him to tell the teachers when he has to go and he tells them!!! That is very exciting because mostly I need him to do that in the fall when he goes to preschool. :D

My parents are in town so we are going to see them today. Yay! I love my parents and think they are genuinely fun people who I enjoy spending time with. I wish everyone could have that sort of feeling about their parental units and I hope that Young Master will feel that way about me and his father.
This morning we made play dough pizza together so at least he thinks I'm fun right now. Here is a picture he took yesterday of some blocks. My budding photog!!! :D

On the store front, I've been a busy busy bee! I'd happily reached 100 items in the shop but then realized somehow I have duplicates so it's not quite right. lol. But I've been working and continue to work on new ideas so soon that 100 will be authentic! :D

In other news I've decided to take part in the site wide Etsy Christmas in July sale. I have a special section here with items that are not only discounted but will be shipped first class for free WORLDWIDE! That last part is not my usual thing but I said, what they hey. Check out the section here!

Last week on the day that I listed it, I was very happy to get my first initial pendant sale! The customer requested the letter M. Here is a picture of the M that I made:

Hope all is well with you!
