On the front page!

Dear batty friends,

Sorry that I've been a bit neglectful! I've been a bit busy. Here's a quick update for you:

I've been filling a few custom orders - some on Etsy, some not. Mysterious... ;)

I'm working on a few more prototypes for the For The Birds series. I've added the Oval Cage and was very excited to have it sell right away!

Also, this morning, I made it to the front page again! I never seem to be on the computer when this happens. ;) My pendants were in an Etsy treasury called "Caged!" Click on the photo above for a larger view.

Back to work for me!

Freed Bird Pendant

Original design by Beads In The Belfry! Part of the For the birds series. This birdie has sold.

This little birdie made of Imperial Jasper, is free to fly wherever he pleases! He has chosen to perch for a bit on this branch with its two little Mouakite flowers.

The branch is a sterling silver tube bead outfitted with smaller sterling silver branches. Our bird has a hand formed and forged coil (spiral) wing.

Don't be fooled by its delicate appearance. This pendant has been hammered for additional durability. The bird itself has been wire wrapped to the branch. Yet and still, I wouldn't give it to my dog as a chew toy.

Impression Jasper showcases many colors and no two stones are exactly alike. This means each and every piece will be one of a kind! Convo me if you want a custom order.

Measures 1 in tall x 2 in wide.

Customer Testimonial

I have to tell you how grateful I am to have been able to purchase the "Pearly Tree of Life Pendant." I bought it as a gift for my best friend. It is so delicate and feminine. It fits her personality perfectly. She really appreciated the fact that it is handcrafted and one of a kind.

You are so talented. And your pieces are so unique. I can hardly wait for a piece to wear myself.

This wonderful customer has asked me to create a piece for her that celebrates her grandchildren! As you can see, I do custom orders. :)

Working on a New Design

That I am SUPER EXCITED about!!!! Pics to come soon. I've been trying to figure out how to execute this idea that I've had in my head for some time now and I think that I've finally got it!

After much trial and error, I've made a prototype out of practice wire and now I'm ready for the real deal. Of course I ran out of the size wire that I need so must now go purchase some tomorrow. I must have it, like yesterday!

What can I say about it...hmmm... it's nature-inclined, delicate and shiny. Duh! I live for the shiny!

OK. I must head to bed now. At first I typed bead. Seriously guys, I have beads in the belfry!!!

Did I mention I'm excited??!?!!? How will I ever sleep!?!!?

Coast to Coast Crafting

So I'm really excited because my friend Andrea has started making jewelry too. She's holding down the West Coast, I'm holding down the East. ;)

Check her out here at: www.stonesandstarling.blogspot.com

Her work is gorgeous.

What's on Your Mind Heart Pendant

So there was a creative challenge on
the Etsy forum to create a piece that you felt defined your shop. And I LOVE an artistic challenge. So I thought on it and at first I was going to be very literal. I was going to make a head with beads in it. I did (eyes, nose, ears etc.) and it looked too cartoony. So then I decided to approach it more abstractly.

The shape is reminiscent of a head but also resembles a heart. The beads are worked into the middle which could signify the brain or the heart's core. I think it fits the bill because it is organic, simple, colorful, classy and of course...shiny! lol. I like to think that is what BeadsInTheBelfry is all about.

The original version of this has been sold. Take heart! heh heh. If you'd like your own, I can recreate it. I've already had to do it once. :)

Would love to post up something new but I'm waiting for my latest materials to arrive. Aaaaarggh!!! As you can see I'm not displaying patience at the moment.
Well as I wait for supplies I have been sketching new ideas I have so I've not been completely unproductive. :)

Most Popular Today?!!! Cool!

So, I'm going about the business of promoting my work and was told about a few sites. One of which is called TalentDatabase.com. So, I joined today and guess what? I just saw that I was one of the four most popular people on there today!

Now, I don't know what that will translate into but it's pretty effin' cool I think. :)

Bridal Jewelry photos

Here is one of the finished pieces! And I just noticed how well the colors compliment my blog. lol.

I had to do three sets of necklaces and earrings. The bridesmaids will be wearing brown, low cut V-neck dresses. I made the necklace kind of like a faux lariat.

It has a cluster of champagne pearls at the end with one large faceted Czech glass bead. It comes together on a sterling silver chain with a few individual wrapped pearls near the hammered sterling silver circle link. I hammered it. I love hammering. :)

The earrings feature more of the same. I'm really happy with how they turned out! I hope the bride will be too! I love how the whole thing sparkles. Oooo.

I love sparkly things.
