I've been a busy little bee

Mostly filling orders but I snuck in a new two thing or two. :D Sneak Peek!

These will hit the shop early morning tomorrow as I will be gone all the rest of the day hanging out with my sister and my niece and nephew! Yay!

Wish me luck with Young Beads and the potty on this outing. *crosses fingers*

Pins and Needles.

Hi everybody! Hope you are doing well!

My leg muscles are hurting and I couldn't for the life of me figure out why until last night. On Sunday, I walked home from church. I volunteered in children's church after going to my normal service and then decided it was a nice day so I walked home instead of calling Mr. Beads for a ride.

Well it's a nice walk but it's a nice walk...uphill! You don't notice these things when you drive. ;D It's almost 2 miles. And the uphill part makes my front leg muscles hurt. The ones near your shins that I didn't know existed? It's an interesting experience. So my legs feel a little pins and needly.

In other pins news, I made my first one! I am very excited! See it here:

And one more because I love to wear this jacket because the collar goes so far up.

And I forgot to post up my Twilight necklace when I made it. Here it is!

It sold pretty quickly! I will make sure I have enough of this same color and then I'll list it again.

Wish my poor body luck recovering! I neglected to mention earlier that on Friday I stretched and somehow strained a back muscle. I'm falling apart at the tender age of 29!

Sometimes I make things just for me

I actually made this months ago but rediscovered it today. If there had been more of these beautiful flowers at my bead shop I'd have happily made some for you too! But alas, 'twas the only one.

Christmas in July?

Hi peeps! What's new with you? What's new with me you ask?

On the home front, Young Master has been training me as to when to put him on the potty. lol. But in very encouraging news when he goes to children's church on Sunday, we advise him to tell the teachers when he has to go and he tells them!!! That is very exciting because mostly I need him to do that in the fall when he goes to preschool. :D

My parents are in town so we are going to see them today. Yay! I love my parents and think they are genuinely fun people who I enjoy spending time with. I wish everyone could have that sort of feeling about their parental units and I hope that Young Master will feel that way about me and his father.
This morning we made play dough pizza together so at least he thinks I'm fun right now. Here is a picture he took yesterday of some blocks. My budding photog!!! :D

On the store front, I've been a busy busy bee! I'd happily reached 100 items in the shop but then realized somehow I have duplicates so it's not quite right. lol. But I've been working and continue to work on new ideas so soon that 100 will be authentic! :D

In other news I've decided to take part in the site wide Etsy Christmas in July sale. I have a special section here with items that are not only discounted but will be shipped first class for free WORLDWIDE! That last part is not my usual thing but I said, what they hey. Check out the section here!

Last week on the day that I listed it, I was very happy to get my first initial pendant sale! The customer requested the letter M. Here is a picture of the M that I made:

Hope all is well with you!

Threadless Contest. Vote for my Sister!

So I've told you before that my little sister rocks the house. So does my big sis but this is not about her. This is about lil sis. She has entered a design contest on threadless.com. I love her entry and want to buy it on a shirt! Can you please go vote for her by clicking the link below? Pretty please? Do I hear a vote of 5 from everyone? GOOD!!!!
Attack! - Threadless T-shirts, Nude No More

Initial Here

So this is the other thing I made this weekend for myself!!!! I'd been wanting to make one and I'd even made a couple in different fonts about a month ago. But I didn't love them. I found this font and LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED IT! I think it's feminine with out being overly girly.

I hope you love it too! Even though it says I have S and N, I can make them in whatever letter if you purchase the listing. And my Facebook Fans are enjoying a sweet deal on these through the end of July! *hint hint*

Click the pics to be taken to these pieces in the shop.

Dude. Are you a fan?

It completely slipped my mind to tell you guys that I started a Facebook Fan Page! It's in its infancy at the moment. Check it out if you'd like and by all means become a fan if that's what you're into. ;P

In other news I have pretty much decided to list the other thing I made for myself in the shop. Just need to take pictures and such! I'll be doing a sneak peek on in my facebook album sometime soon. To know what that is you'd of course have to check out the link above. Toodle loo!

In other news, Young Master Beads seems to be doing better with this potty training thing. Which really means I'm being more consistent about putting him on it. lol. Yippee!

oh! And I listed something new today!

This is one of the new things I made for myself this week! :D It has been a while since I've made a new pony tail holder and this one has been on my mind ever since the last one I made (the hearts)!

Packaging Junkie - Rethinking the Business Card Tutorial

So I am a sucker for a pretty picture. Package something beautifully for me and I'll want to save the wrapping and I'll love you forever! In light of this I've been thinking of ways to snazz up my packaging further. I hit upon the idea of using a business card template but in a new way! This is a semi-tutorial. Check it out below:

How did you do this you say? I divided a business card into thirds and printed the same image over it! I also added my shop URL on the back! So I got three times as many uses out of one business card. Woot! See the pictures below. I used Zazzle to make these. The only thing I think I'll do differently next time is to get a bit thicker card stock. I was designing this up against a free shipping deadline and was in a hurry and missed that option. lol.
I also made some cute "To: From:" hang tag/note cards. I'm thinking ahead for the holiday season and also, occasionally I have someone ask me to include a note for a present. To make the hang tag simply divide the business card in two! I'm showing two hang tags in the picture as it is printed on the front and back. :D

I hope someone finds this useful!
