Tumbling Fool

So guys, I got a tumbler. I like to call it my starter tumbler. You use tumblers to harden metal and polish it to a mirror shine. Well, my goodness - it is ridiculous how shiny it gets! I personally don't need all that bling but I'm sure some will appreciate it. Here are a couple of kind of before and after shots:

The piece on the left is just normal. The piece on the right has been tumbled.
Before:

After: I mean, wow right??!?!?!
In other news my little shop got somewhat busy the last week. Yay! I don't know how those high volume folks do it! More power to 'em. This means, I've not had much time to play in new designs. boo. :(

That is nice and shiny! I polish my silver by soaking it in a mixture of boiling water with baking soda, salt, and aluminum. Through chemical reaction, the silver oxide tarnish leeches off the piece and onto the aluminum, leaving behind a nice shiny silver :0} It is a smelly affair though, since the silver oxide has sulfur in it. Ew.

You'll have to tell us more about the tumbler and what kind of shot you're using, etc...

I have plans to get one too this year, I just haven't cleaned out the area it's going to sit on. :)

I've been meaning to get one for a while and it looks like a big time saver. Really professional results. What kind did you buy?
