Long story short. This croton has at least 15+ years of plantdom. It has *never* grown flowers until this year. Hubby and I were all like freaked out when we saw the buds. Like, think the movie "Invasion of The Pod People." Seriously.
I took it to a nursery and they told me to relax. Flowers would bloom. And sure enough they have!
Hubby still doesn't trust the poor thing though. It has now been relegated to outdoor status.
In other news, NY was fantastic but the trip was way too short. I will have to go back sometime later this summer so I can really get reacquainted.

Pretty plant and nice pictures.
Glad you liked NY... it is nice there.
What a cool plant! Poor thing, I hope it's fine outside (hehehe)
I would love to go to NY too
Did you take those pics? Go you! There's never enough time to see it all, but I'm glad you enjoyed your stay however short...
Helen - NY is my hometown! I love it and do NOT get there enough
Patrizia - I believe it will be ok. It is a tropical plant. *crosses fingers*
T - I did take that photo!!! Can you believe it? Way better than my last flower attempts in Pittsburgh. lol.
hey i have that plant it blooms all the time!
congrats on the front page treasury! It must've just come on in the last 20 mins.
That's pretty funny that the flowers prompted you to banish it outside. Will it ba allowed back in one day?
baldy - it did get to come back in for a week because the deck was getting power washed.
I found out that it is toxic when ingested so it's going to stay outside until my little one is completely out of the eating random things stage.
