Life is funny

sick pig by Ollie Crafoord

So what I didn't tell you in all this waiting for my camera to arrive was that the last few days young Master Beads was fighting a fever. Well we went to the doctor and it turns out he has an ear infection. He is much better today having taken the prescribed medication.

I however, woke up yesterday feeling less than stellar and even less so today! And as my honey was giving young Master his medication this morning because I was too weak, I was very grateful. As he walked out the door, he said "hmmm!"

Guess what was outside my door by 8:10 AM this morning? My camera! Thanks Fed Ex!

Guess who feels too beat to open said camera? Me! Life is funny.

Hope everyone else feels better than I do and has a great weekend!

Where do broken hearts go? FedEx's shipping facility.

image supplied by these guys

I'm not really FedUp but FedEx is playing fast and loose with my emotions. So the package tracking said my package would be delivered yesterday. I wasn't actually expecting that before I tracked it but then my hopes were all up and I blogged about it and got all excited!!!!

Well it turns out the FedEx man ran out of time and didn't make it to my house. So my camera went back to the shipping facility. Yes, I called to find out what was up. lol. Hopefully he makes it today!

*SQUEAL!!!*

After intense camera searching and intense hemming and hawing and some hand holding by little sis, I finally ordered my new camera yesterday afternoon. The order shipped the same day....And guess what?!?!??!?! Apparently it will be in my hot little hands TODAY!?!?!? That is like lightning fast shipping! I intentionally chose a place on my coast so it would get here quickly but wow!!!! I can hardly stand it!!!!

I'm sure it will be quite a learning curve as I finally decided to make the DSLR plunge. Wish me luck and I'm jumping for joy! Well, not right now because I'm typing but you get the general idea...

Are we having fun yet?

picture provided by - you know since I can't take any - Reuben Stanton

My new old camera broke and my car is in the shop for who knows what. Just let me know when all this fun stops 'k?

I know these are small problems in comparison to others out there and I should be grateful. But right now I reserve the right to be grumpy.
thank you.

Mundaness rocks!

I'm really focused on taking it easy right now and enjoying the simple things.
Eating lunch on your patio.
Sipping strawberry milk.
The mundane.
For some reason I think the word mundane has gotten a bad rep.
One definition I looked up described mundane as unimaginative.
I disagree wholeheartedly. The everyday things of life give my work inspiration daily.
The mundane things of life are life. At least here on earth.
What do we remember when loved ones pass on?
Do you remember the "must have" gifts of the season you received from them?
Or do you remember the constancy of their love - by how they tucked you in at night?
Or how they only wore coral lipstick?
Here's to the mundane!

Let the materials talk to you

I forgot to show you guys some of the things I made last week so here they are. I let the materials lead me to the path they wanted to take.

Isn't this bead gorgeous?!?!? I had to have some of them. With a bead this fab all you gotta do is showcase it simply! This one sold but don't worry I have more. :D Will put some more up later this week I think.

I was originally commissioned by a friend to come up with a butterfly necklace to compliment the studs seen here. I was so stuck on what to do. Sometimes I get too cerebral about things.

So I just said forget it and let the metal talk to me as a I worked with it. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. So pleased, that I immediately made another one for myself! lol. And then put it in the shop because I knew someone else would love it too!

In other news I'm knee deep in initial necklaces to create (yay!)
